Welcome back to MOCA! Learn about our new exhibitions through a three-day series of public programmes and workshops that engage with the practice and techniques of Jeff Wall. You’ll explore the works from Jeff Wall Photographs 1984–2023 through activations all weekend long.
Nature Journalling with High Park Nature Centre
Join MOCA and the High Park Nature Centre and explore urban ecosystems through nature journaling!
Science and art converge as you take a closer look at your relationship with the natural world. Take inspiration from the images of where urbanization and nature meet in Wall’s work.
This hands-on workshop begins at the museum, where you’ll be making your own saddle-stitch notebooks. Learn the fundamentals of bookmaking as you fold, sew, and design your way to creating a unique nature journal.
Then, walk from the Junction to High Park, exploring urban ecosystems and our relationship with plants and animals. High Park Nature Centre educators will guide the tour with opportunities for observation, sketching, and discussion.
All materials to make your book and pencils will be provided. You are welcome to bring your preferred drawing materials to use while journalling. No drawing experience needed. Recommended for ages 13+.
Registration is required for this programme.
