Join us on Saturday, July 4, for a special collaboration with Clay With Me and create your own mosaic.
Turn broken fragments into something beautifully whole while exploring the basics of mosaic design in this hands-on workshop. No experience needed, all are welcome.
This workshop draws from ideas and materials explored in our current exhibitions, so we encourage you to arrive early and get inspired! From Sara Cwynar’s expansive tiled wallpaper on Floor 2, to Kimsooja’s meditative ceramic work on Floor 3, there’s plenty to see before you start tiling.
Guided by your instructor, you’ll choose your tiles and learn how to safely use hand-held cutting tools to shape them. You’ll finish your piece with grout and leave with a completed, coaster-sized mosaic to take home with you.
Registration required. Ticket includes general admission, and all materials are provided. Recommended for ages 13+.
*Enthusiast, Catalyst, and Sustaining Members: redeem your complimentary ticket for this event or enjoy 10% off. To join or upgrade your membership, email membership@moca.ca.
About the Artist
Gabriela Mariana Angulo is a ceramic artist, educator, and the heart behind Clay With Me. Originally from Argentina, she holds a degree in Ceramics and Visual Arts from Artes del Fuego College, where she also became a professor, teaching pottery for over a decade. Her work was widely recognized and sold across Argentina, earning her a strong reputation as a respected and beloved artist.
About Clay With Me
Clay With Me was born from a simple idea: creativity has the power to connect us.
In 2010, Gabriela Mariana Angulo moved to Toronto to start a new chapter. As she built her life in a new city, she found belonging in a close-knit community of mothers—women who supported one another, shared their time, and created a sense of home together.
Angulo began setting up small clay sessions in her home, using it as a way to keep the kids engaged: hands busy, creativity flowing. From those early days around a kitchen table, Clay With Me has grown into a space where thousands of people have come to slow down, create, and connect.
