About the Exhibition: The Art of Seeing
Wednesday, January 14–Sunday January 25
Written by Creative Youth
The Art of Seeing explores the concept of ‘Spectacle’ through the perspective of photography, scrutinizing how perception, from time to time, warps fact. In response to MOCA’s Jeff Wall Photographs 1984–2023 exhibition, the programme invites audiences to consider how images influence the way we see ourselves, each other, and the everyday world around us.
Spectacle is commonly defined as something visually striking, containing a particularly exciting element. Creative Youth expands this definition, interpreting spectacle in many intriguing ways ranging from how spectacle is experienced within one’s self, to how everyday objects are processed and understood in people’s lives.
This exhibition will be held on Floor 1 and will be free to the public. A General Admission ticket is needed for full museum access.
