Join Creative Youth for a day of youth-led programming developed in dialogue with their pop-up exhibition Lost in Transmediation.
Start your visit by making handmade fabric notes with textiles, then learn more about their work by joining a drop-in tour! Exploring tactile, screen-free forms of making and connecting, you’ll be invited to reflect on your personal identity by slowing down, being present, and making art.
This day of programmes is free with admission, and free for youth aged 18 and under.

Led by Creative Youth, use fabric, felt, thread, and beads, to create a small artwork that you can trade or swap with a friend.
The possibilities are endless! Make a bag charm, key chain, clothing patch, or anything else you dream up.
Using embroidery and needlework techniques, you’re encouraged to reflect on your personal identity and choose a meaningful word or phrase to add to your creation.

Are you interested in learning more about youth’s perspective on contemporary art? Join us throughout the day for short drop-in tours led by MOCA’s Creative Youth!
Explore Youth Council’s pop-up exhibition on Floor 1, as well as the artistic practice and approach behind the artwork of these young artists. These conversational tours will also connect with themes from MOCA’s current exhibitions and projects, including Kimsooja’s Dimensions of a Needle, Sara Cwynar’s Baby Blue Benzo Beta, and Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi’s Suspension.
About Creative Youth
Creative Youth is a three-month programme of workshops, field trips, and creative sessions for youth to turn their emerging community arts passion into practice. The programme aims to expose participants to programme production, community outreach, curation and artistic professional development and culminates in a co-produced exhibition and public programme. In developing their programme, members of Creative Youth have the opportunity to respond to MOCA’s exhibitions and to broader contemporary issues. Members are responsible for coordination and facilitation of the programme including, marketing, writing, art-making and curation.
