Welcome back to MOCA!
Join us for a three-day series of public programmes, tours and workshops that engage with the practices and themes of our current exhibiting artists. Experience the dynamic exhibitions of Kimsooja and Sara Cwynar, as well as a powerful audiovisual work by Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi.
There’s something for everyone this weekend: a workshop on Friday night, drop-in tours on Saturday, and an all-ages workshop on Sunday. Come by, explore, and let your creativity unfold!
No registration or experience required. All activities are free with museum admission. Full schedule below.
Drop-in Workshop: Pixel-by-Pixel Collage
Friday, May 15 | 5–8 pm | Designed for adults
Join us on our first day of our Spring 2026 season! We’re open late for an evening of art and creativity.
In this drop-in workshop, consider the tiny pixels that make up the images we’re surrounded by every day. Create an image one square at a time in this unique approach to collage art, inspired by Sara Cwynar’s multimedia works in Baby Blue Benzo Beta.
No registration or experience required. All materials are included and this activity is free with museum admission.
Drop-in Tours
Saturday, May 16 | 12 and 2 pm | All-ages
Explore our new exhibitions with drop-in tours led by MOCA’s Art Educators. Get to know all three floors of our current exhibitions, ask questions, and learn about art—all ages are welcome.
Joining with kids? Play our I Spy game that takes you all over the museum. Also, be sure to check out MOCA’s learning guide, a fun self-directed booklet filled with games, activities, and drawing prompts that are designed to make learning about contemporary art easy and exciting for all ages.
Drop-in Workshop: Friendship Bracelets
Sunday, May 17 | 10 am–3 pm | All-ages
Make memories at MOCA! Stop by the museum and learn how to make a friendship bracelet using embroidery thread—yours to take home and trade with your friends and loved ones.
Inspired by Kimsooja’s exhibition, Dimensions of a Needle, this activity encourages you to slow down and reflect on connection in a fast-moving world. Think about who you’ll share your bracelet with and how it feels to slow down and create.
Recommended for all ages, including children aged 5+ with support of an adult.
