Join exhibiting artists Susan For Susan for a tour of their current exhibition Trade Show, followed by an interactive art-making workshop. The event will begin with a tour led by the artists at 1:00 pm, followed by a workshop led by MOCA’s Arts Educators.
Adopting Susan For Susan’s sculptural practice, which teeters between experimentation and the creation of useful objects, the workshop will guide participants through the creative process of upcycling — transforming a damaged or unwanted good into an art object or something new. During this session, participants will explore the gap between art, architecture and industrial design.
For this workshop participants are required to bring a small household item which they will sculpturally repurpose through a range of materials during the workshop.
Please note that your ticket for this event does not include admission, which is required to access this event. Please book your admission ticket at the same time.
About the Artists
Susan For Susan is a Toronto based design studio founded by brothers John and Kevin Watts. The studio balances rationale and experimentation to produce honest, intelligible works. All pieces are handmade by the brothers, celebrating both the process and qualities inherent in the materials.
