This family weekend, kids take over MOCA! Through two days of child-centric programming, MOCA welcomes families to engage with our current exhibitions, learning how artists, curators and educators work together to run an art museum. These activities are recommended for all ages, but all children must be accompanied by a guardian.
Saturday Workshops
Saturday, February 3
Join MOCA’s Learning Team for a workshop that aims to introduce young people to the unique role of Museum Educator. Through a series of games, conversations and activities, participants will explore the museum and practice talking about contemporary art with their peers and family. Children will have the opportunity to learn about leading tours across all three floors of the museum, just like MOCA’s Learning Team!
TD Community Sunday
Sunday, February 4
Join MOCA for a workshop where participants will have the chance to create their own temporary, mini exhibition on the Ground Floor of the Museum. MOCA’s Arts Educators will help participants develop paper sculptures that respond to and expand on the contemporary art on view at MOCA. Following this, participants will learn how to write about the art they create and share it with their family and friends!
