Exploring Sake with Mariko Tajiri

Saturday, October 1, 2022
 | 6:00 pm
 – 9:00 pm
 | Drink prices vary

Join MOCA in welcoming sake expert and educator, Mariko Tajiri, in celebration of both International Sake Day and Toronto’s Nuit Blanche Festival. Tajiri will be operating MOCA’s installation, untitled 2013 (thomas demand’s here) by Rirkrit Tiravanija, from 6:00–9:00 pm.

On offer is a sake omakase menu where you will be challenged to engage with combinations of flavours and textures, temperatures and pairings you may never have thought of. Trust the experience and enjoy the ride!

Mariko is an f&b professional (professional eater and drinker), always thinking about what to drink and eat next. Can often be found slurping sake, wine, coffee and water whilst dreaming up imaginary potato chip flavour combinations.

National Brand Manager for That’s Life, an Asian-owned and operated wine and sake agency representing beautiful producers from around the world.

Creator of Hakko Gakko, school of fermentation and a WSET sake educator.
