Join MOCA for the April iteration of our Monthly Reading Sessions, developed in partnership with Groundwood Books. During this programme, illustrator Ken Daley will read his most recent picture book A Feast for Joseph, written by Terry Farish and OD Bonny. Daley will also lead an arts-based activity in relation to the book and his own illustrative style. The reading will take place within Jeffrey Gibson’s exhibition I AM YOUR RELATIVE. Gibson’s installation also includes a small collection of children’s books sourced from Groundwood Books and Another Story Bookshop. The collection prioritizes Indigenous, Black, Brown and queer voices.
A Feast for Joseph will be available onsite for purchase. Participants will also have the opportunity to have their book signed by Daley.
Bio
Ken Daley is an illustrator who draws inspiration for his work from his African Caribbean roots. As a renowned children’s book illustrator, he has received a Skipping Stones Honor Award for International Multicultural Books, an Américas Award Honor Book and a Kirkus Best Picture Book about History and Tradition. Apart from his book illustrations, his art has been exhibited in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean, and his work can be found in numerous private collections.
