Join MOCA and Mosaic Yoga for a guided breathwork experience inspired by Kimsooja’s exploration of materiality, transformation, and connection in her exhibition Dimensions of a Needle.
Taking place on Floor 3, this session unfolds amidst the installation Meta Painting, where seemingly blank canvases reveal their depth through Kimsooja’s process of planting, cultivating, harvesting, and spinning the flax into the large stretched linen surfaces that fill and divide the space, reducing the act of painting to its essence.
Through intentional breathing and meditation, you’ll be invited to slow down and cultivate a deeper awareness of the present moment, reflecting on the relationships between body, space, and materiality that underpin Kimsooja’s practice.
As Kimsooja transforms simple materials through acts of sewing, wrapping, and care, consider the unseen threads that connect body, breath, environment, and consciousness. Explore how small gestures can foster reflection, renewal, and a deeper sense of presence.
Tickets are sold through Mosaic Yoga and include museum admission.
About the Instructor
As a teacher and multidisciplinary artist, Rami Schandall (she/her) is grateful for the body-mind practices that offer balance, ongoing inquiry, and inspire creative ways of engaging with the world. Discernment and self-study are central principles in Schandall’s teaching. In a life-long practice, self-awareness and the physical body continually change. At every stage, it is possible to listen more deeply, to ground, and to water the seeds of joy and wisdom.
