March: Illusions, Mirrors and Magic!
Workshop with Guest Artist Karen Kar Yen Law
Saturday, March 4
Join guest artist Karen Kar Yen Law, a painter and printmaker interested in the intersections of the two processes, for a hands-on workshop reimagining illusions, magic and colour. This workshop will play with themes raised in Serkan Özkaya’s ni4ni v.3, which uses a massive mirrored sphere to create an immersive exploration of the eye, along with themes of perception, time and self. Participants will play with shapes, colours and perception to create illusion-based art!
March TD Community Sunday
Sunday, March 5
Drawing from Serkan Özkaya’s playful take on self-perception in ni4ni v.3, March’s TD Community Sunday programme will explore sculpture making by using reflective surfaces to create illusions and impressions of movement. Through making these sculptures, participants will be invited to reflect on Özkaya’s work, self-perception and the relationship between art and the viewer.
