Join MOCA Toronto in hosting and celebrating House of Anansi Press’ annual Poetry Bash, featuring poetry readings and performances. The Bash will highlight the launch of three stunning poetry collections: Jen Currin’s Trinity Street, Hannah Green’s Xanax Cowboy and Michael Crummey’s Passengers. This year’s in-person bash also provides the opportunity to celebrate additional collections published during the pandemic, including Sanna Wani’s My Grief, the Sun, Bardia Sinaee’s Intruder, A. F. Moritz’s As Far As We Know and Mathew Henderson’s Roguelike.
Celebrate these collections with readings from all seven poets in attendance. This event will be held on the ground floor of the museum and act as an opportunity for visual language to meet with written word.
This event is in memory of Steven Heighton who was lost in 2022 and will be honoured with a special tribute reading.
In April of 2022 we lost prolific and prize-winning author, poet and musician, Steven Heighton. Anansi had the distinct pleasure of working with Steven on both his poetry at House of Anansi Press and his work for children at Groundwood Books. Anansi is honoured that so many of us had the opportunity to know Steven, work with him and interact with his writing.
At Poetry Bash, Steven and his life’s work will be honoured with a special reading and tribute.
