Do you remember the Honest Shop from 2019, a self-serve store that showcased and sold items handmade by local creators? The shop operated on a self-service basis, relying on the honesty of customers to record their sale and pay.
On December 15, for the holiday season, MOCA is launching a new iteration titled honestshop21 that will feature items by invited artists and makers from Toronto to involve a wider community in the GTA21 exhibition. The shop will operate on a similar honesty system but this time it will be cashless with visitors able to purchase items using credit or debit via square payment. honestshop21 will be hosted on the ground floor within a reconfiguration of Tom Chung’s 50 Shelves for MOCA installation.
