The Stillness Room is a coming together to experience the transformative qualities of stillness, silence and quiet connection, facilitated by Necessary Angel Theatre Company Artistic Director Alan Dilworth.
- Wear comfortable clothing
- No experience with mindfulness or meditation is necessary.
- Welcome to all
- We will talk briefly and then sit together in silence and stillness for 15 minutes.
- We will have three sessions at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
The Stillness Room was founded in 2016 by Toronto theatre director, writer and teacher Alan Dilworth. A long-time meditation practitioner, Dilworth started The Stillness Room as a health and wellness offering for artists and theatre workers. The program was piloted at Soulpepper Theatre Company where it ran for two years and was then implemented at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
Run time: 15-mins per session, three sessions: 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
“Sitting still, is a way of falling in love with the world and everything in it.”
— Pico Iyer, The Art of Stillness
