Ready to try something new with friends or family? Join Parkdale Pottery for an introductory clay workshop this Community Weekend at MOCA.

In this single-session workshop, you’ll dive into pinch pot, coil, and slab-building techniques, crafting anything from cute cups to colourful dishes! Expert potters will guide you through every step of the handbuilt ceramics process. Then, add your personal touch with vibrant painted underglazes.

Don’t forget to explore MOCA’s current exhibitions featuring the sculptural installations of Jessica Stockholder and Alex Da Corte for inspiration. Your ticket includes museum admission.

Parkdale Pottery will finish and fire your pieces in their kiln. Your creations will be ready for pickup in just 4 weeks!

This workshop is presented by MOCA Toronto in collaboration with our friends at Noble Space.

Registration is required for this program.

About the Artist

Dana, the Founder of Parkdale Pottery, is a ceramic artist with a passion for both handbuilding and wheel throwing. Her artistic journey began in fashion and textile design, where she developed a deep appreciation for pattern, texture, and composition. This background seamlessly informs her ceramic work, which is distinguished by layered florals and botanical motifs, bringing a unique, painterly quality to clay.

For Dana, pottery is more than just a craft—it’s a language of creativity and self-expression. She founded Parkdale Pottery to share that language with others, creating a space where people of all skill levels can connect, learn, and grow as artists. Her teaching style is rooted in encouragement, exploration, and a belief that every artist—whether complete beginner or seasoned maker—has their own distinct voice waiting to be discovered in clay.
