 | 12:00 pm
 – 4:00 pm
 | Free with Admission

Join MOCA’s Youth Council, Creative Youth, for a day of activities in celebration of Youth Week Toronto! This full day of programming has been curated and planned by the members of Creative Youth and includes a range of engaging and thought-provoking activities, performances, tours and talks that showcase the talent and creativity of the council’s young artists.

Creative Youth is invested in promoting a culture of respect for nature and creating opportunities for young artists to engage in meaningful conversations about their future impact as artists and artistic leaders. Youth Day has been planned with the intention of providing a platform for youth voices to be heard and celebrated at MOCA.

Schedule

To open the programme, the youth council will share original performances, including Indigenous hoop dance, music and poetry.

Enjoy a range of engaging and thought-provoking art-based activities, curated by the Youth Council, and explore waste as sculptural making, botanical drawing and collective collage. These activities are designed to encourage participants to think critically and creatively about their relationship with the environment and the world around them.

Led by Creative Youth members, this tour will focus on Kapwani Kiwanga’s exhibition Remediation.

Hear from a diverse group of young artists who are making a difference in their communities. They’ll share their insights, experiences and perspectives on the importance of youth arts and their change-making visions for the future.
