Join us for a special Art Hive at MOCA, a free, drop-in art-making programme welcoming you to stop by and create!
We’ve partnered with Sorauren Farmers’ Market to bring Art Hives into the community. Drop by the winter market, located at Henderson Brewing Company for family-friendly art activities, live music and local vendors.
At this pop-up series, the community is invited to participate in a creative workshop. Each session offers a space to experiment with art materials and techniques through suggested activities, opportunities to connect with fellow participants, and a chance to reflect on your creations. Learn about MOCA Toronto, engage with contemporary art and get inspired! All skill levels and ages are welcome.
As part of MOCA’s commitment to accessible programming, Art Hive is free to attend and all materials are provided. Spots are on a first-come first-served basis. Each event is led by graduate students from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and supported by MOCA’s learning team.
About The Sorauren Farmers Market
The Sorauren Farmers Market is a vibrant, community-driven market that has been serving Toronto’s west end since 2008, bringing together local farmers, food producers, artisans, and neighbours in a welcoming weekly gathering. Rooted in a commitment to supporting small-scale agriculture, local businesses, and sustainable food systems, the market emphasizes direct connections between producers and the community they feed. During the summer season, the market operates outdoors in Sorauren Park, creating a lively, family-friendly public space, while in the winter months it moves indoors to Henderson Brewing Company, maintaining year-round access to local food. Throughout the year, the Sorauren Farmers Market also hosts live music, children’s programming, special events, and community initiatives that reflect its ethos of inclusivity, resilience, and neighbourhood connection.
What is an Art Hive?
Art Hives provide free, community art-making spaces open to everyone, aiming to foster a welcoming environment for all participants. You don’t need to have any experience making art to join.
This programme draws from the research and practice of Dr. Janis Timm-Bottos, a professor at Concordia University. Learn more about Art Hives here.
