Join Jess Maiorano (owner/operator of Pasta Forever) and learn how to make homemade pasta from scratch, using just a few simple ingredients. In this hands-on, virtual workshop, Jess will teach you how to create the pasta dough, hand-roll a cool shape called “busiate” and make a delicious zucchini walnut pesto to go along with it.
This workshop is inspired by Mika Rottenberg’s work Spaghetti Blockchain, which features scenes of hands squishing, kneading and slicing different materials. Mika is interested in the different ways we can interact with matter. What better way to explore that idea than through rolling, kneading, and shaping pasta dough?

Hi there – it’s me, Jess! I’ve been making and delivering pasta since the beginning of Covid-19 in Toronto.
I’ve been making pasta professionally for about 6 years at some of my favourite restaurants, most recently at Lawrence in Montreal, and Paris Paris and Woodlot since moving back to Toronto. But truly, I’ve been obsessed with noods long before that!
I grew up with my Nonna rolling cavatelli and gnocchi daily in my kitchen, with her wooden board on our small kitchen table. Every Sunday we would have a large pasta lunch at my Aunt’s house – cured meats! cheeses! pastas! bread! hot peppers! homemade wine! dolce!
It’s such a special thing to share a meal with people you love. It’s comforting, it’s heart-warming, and – in my house at least – it’s loud and carb-filled.That’s what I hope to bring to you! Special meals handmade for you, and for sharing with the people you love.
