Join MOCA Toronto in welcoming exhibiting artist Matt Nish-Lapidus for Replaced, Renewed, a series of sound performances on Friday, April 28 from 7–8 pm and Sunday, April 30 from 3–4 pm. This work is a live improvisation extending the techniques and concepts from his current sound installation, Only the dreamer knows it, reinterpreting the original raw audio from the installation using his ever-evolving computer-based performance instrument.
Nish-Lapidus’s music and performance practice draws from his years of playing in punk bands, experimental/improvisational groups and his ongoing computer and electronic music project, New Tendencies. The performance will provide an ethereal environment allowing audience members to experience the audio within the visual stimuli of Kapwani Kiwanga’s work Elliptical Field on the Ground Floor.
