Yoga in the Museum

Thursday, December 7, 2023
 | 7:00 pm
 – 8:00 pm
 | Free for Members

Join MOCA Toronto for an exclusive Members’ Event on December 7, 2023 from 7–8 pm, where Members can enjoy a relaxing session of meditation and yoga led by instructor Chris McComb. Participants will be surrounded by The Wedge Collection’s Dancing in the Light on the Third Floor, which features the works of over 40 artists. The space was originally conceived of as a capacious place for gathering and study, and encourages viewers to sit and take their time in the space, echoing the themes of yoga and meditation.

Please note that Members must come with their own yoga mat to participate. Water will be provided, but reusable water bottles are encouraged. Doors will open at 6:45 pm, and we encourage Members to arrive 15 minutes early to change if needed.

Meet the Instructor

Chris McComb began practising yoga in 2005 when she was going through a difficult time in her life, and she always found she could show up on her mat and be 100% supported. Chris completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Kula Yoga in Oakville in 2009. Shortly after completing her yoga teacher training, she also completed a Mindfulness course for stress reduction. Her goal as a teacher is to meet every student where they are, and she has taught for over 10 years in corporate environments, health clubs, and at yoga studies. Chris’ teachings combine both Yoga and Mindfulness in Waterdown, Ontario, where she is currently an instructor at Yogashala Wellness Centre.
