Join MOCA Toronto on October 12 for our first Fall 2023 Members’ Event, Paint Night! Members will learn and employ beginner techniques for acrylic painting to create an artwork inspired by the works on paper featured within Phyllida Barlow’s exhibition Eleven Columns.
Barlow’s artworks engage in many types of layered processes, and her artistic practice was motivated by a rejection of tradition, looking to the act of recycling and abandoned industrial objects as forms of inspiration. Drawing from these themes and the colours present within Eleven Columns, Members will use different tools and techniques to create their own layered artworks during the evening.
This event requires registration. Members are encouraged to bring their own materials if they would like, but materials and a blank canvas will also be provided for each Member.
