Join us on Friday, May 31st at 6 pm to celebrate the launch of Greater Toronto Art 2024, a new 320-page publication produced to accompany the second edition of MOCA Toronto’s triennial. The event will include readings by exhibition co-curator Toleen Touq and contributing author Camille Georgeson Usher.

This year’s triennial features 25 intergenerational artists, duos, and collectives across the exhibition, live programme, and screening programme. GTA24 spans work from the 1960s to the present–including 15 ambitious newly commissioned artworks, performances, and events–allowing the commingling of art from various decades to provide new ways of understanding the current moment and imagining the future.

Designed by the award-winning Studio Claus Due (Copenhagen) and edited by Jayne Wilkinson, the publication includes newly commissioned texts by Camille Georgeson Usher and Tiana Reid and a curatorial essay by the curatorial team, Ebony L. Haynes, Toleen Touq, and Kate Wong. The book features installation photos from the exhibition, comprehensive descriptions about each artist, and an exciting section of “studio visits in print” that feature images and textual contributions from each of the artists, providing an intimate look into their varied practices and the inspiration behind their work in GTA24.

The GTA24 publication will be available for purchase and additional exhibition merchandise, including the catalogue for GTA21, will be offered at special rates for the evening.

This publication launch is part of MOCA’s Free Friday Nights powered by Scotiabank and will be followed by Hypericin Yellow Movie, a performance by Oliver Husain and Kerstin Schroedinger. Free tickets can be obtained ahead of time or at the door. Book in advance to reserve your spot!
